Vicuñas, native to the Andean plains, are revered for their sumptuous fiber, a distinction shared by neither alpacas nor llamas. These wild creatures, protected by law, are not domesticated due to their reluctance to reproduce in captivity.

Ethically Sourced and Sustainable:

The trade in the fiber sheared from the Vicuña is strictly regulated under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES). The  acquisition of Vicuña wool adheres to stringent ethical standards, as it is obtained solely through shearing, conducted annually by local rural communities. This process ensures the animal's well-being, as it is released unharmed post-shearing. Moreover, Vicuñas are sheared in accordance with ancient traditions, such as the Chaku ritual, deeply rooted in Incan heritage, symbolizing a harmonious coexistence between humans and nature.
